Islamabad police arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession, police claimed on Wednesday.
Acting on a specific information, a police party of Police Station Bijbehara headed by SHO Bijbehara Arshid Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Bijbehara Tanveer Ahmad laid a Naka near Eidgah crossing Bijbehara, police spokesperson said in a statement.
“During naka checking one person identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Sadeeq Dar resident of Reshi Bazar Anantnag was intercepted. On checking 17 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession,” the statement added.
A case FIR number 45/17 under section 48F Excise Act was registered and investigation was taken up.
