SRINAGAR: Police have arrested a man and allegedly recovered charas from his possession during routine patrolling in the Haji Mohalla Barariangan area of Uttersoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
The accused was identified as Hamid Farooq Dar, son of Farooq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Brakpora, Anantnag.
According to police, a team from Police Station Uttersoo apprehended Dar during patrolling and recovered charas during his search.
Police said FIR No. 88/2026 has been registered at Police Station Uttersoo and an investigation into the case has been initiated.
JK Police reiterated its commitment to curbing drug-related activities and appealed to the public to cooperate with efforts to make the district drug-free.
