Man Jumps into Jhelum River in North Kashmir

   
SRINAGAR: An unidentified person reportedly jumped into the Jhelum River in the Azad Gunj area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla town on Monday.
Eyewitnesses said the incident caused commotion in the area, with people rushing to the riverbank. Soon after, a joint rescue operation was launched by Baramulla Police, District Administration, SDRF, Army personnel and local volunteers.
Rescue teams continued to search the river waters, but the individual had not been traced at the time of filing this report. Officials said the identity of the person remains unknown, and the circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be ascertained. [KNT]
