A man was killed on Monday after an army vehicle hit a car in Chowgal area of north Kashmir’s Handwara town.

Reports said that a car, driven by assistant director forest protection force Handwara Ajaz Rasool Wan, was hit by a speeding army vehicle in Chowgal area on Monday afternoon.

They said Aijaz, a resident of Sopore, died on the spot.

Soon after the incident, residents of the area took to the streets and staged a massive protest against the army.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case in this regard, said an official.
