SRINAGAR: A man has been arrested in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district after allegedly killing his mother-in-law in the Botakadal area on Sunday.
According to official sources, the Lalbazar police received information that Saleema, wife of Late Mohd Qasim and a resident of Gulshan Bagh, Botakadal, was assaulted by her son-in-law, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, originally from Pattan. The attack resulted in the immediate death of the lady.
A case under FIR No 45/ 2023 u/s 302 IPC was registered at the Lalbazar police station, and during the investigation, the accused, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, who had been evading arrest, was apprehended and taken into custody in connection with the incident. (KS)
