SRINAGAR: In a tragic incident a man killed his wife by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon at the Ramgarh area in Samba district of Jammu.
A senior police officer said that the deceased woman, 24, was murdered by her husband leading to her immediate death. “Police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused who fled from the scene of the crime immediately after committing murder. Police tightened all nakas in the district, alerted its team in the entire area, and nabbed him.”
He said case FIR No. 40/2023 u/s 302 IPC has been registered at Police Station Ramgarh, post-mortem of the deceased has been got conducted through the board of doctors and after completing all legal formalities, accused has been arrested by police & subjected to sustained interrogation.
The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Sunny Lambad s/o Darshan Kumar Choudhary r/o Ramgarh district Samba.
The deceased Rimpy of Ramgarh was married to Sunil, also a resident of Ramgarh for nearly four years and have a two-year-old girl child.
“Accused husband has been arrested and further investigation is going on,” the officer added.(KS)
