One person slipped to death when he ran for his life after being attacked by a Bear in Boniyar, Uri, police said on Monday.

Manzoor Ahmad Awan son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pringal Boniyar while grazing his cattle in a nearby forest was attacked by a Bear. However, he tried to run for life but slipped and fell into deep gorge. He was retrieved in critical condition and was shifted to hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, two persons were drowned in separate incidents in North Kashmir and the bodies have been fished out.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Gunjal son of Ghulam Mohammad Gunjal resident of Nagranar, Handwara got drowned while bathing in an artificial dam Sarband in Handwara. The body was fished out from the Sarband with the help of Police and locals.

Mustafa Lone son of Abdul Majeed Lone a resident of Shahpora, Churwan Gurez slipped and got drowned in river Kishen Ganga, in Gurez. The body of Mustafa was recovered near village Achoora and handed over to his relatives for last rites.
