On the eve of Martyrs Day, Geelani had called for Naqushbandh Sahib in Old Srinagar.
He along with scores of his associates started march towards the Martyrs Graveyard at Naqushbandh Sahib where 21 Martyrs of 1931 are buried.

On the occasion, Geelani condemned the “oppressive measures of puppet government of Ms Mehbobba”.
Local witnesses said that Geelani paid tributes to martyrs of 1931 and slain militant commander Burhan Wani.
