In view of the Martyrs’ day, authorities imposed restrictions in various parts of Srinagar in order to avoid any law and order situation on Saturday.

The curbs were imposed following a shutdown call given by separatist group JRL in remembrance of July 13, 1931, Martyrs’. The day is being commemorated every year on July 13 to pay homage to the people killed in firing by forces of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley. All the shops and other business establishments are closed in the valley and traffic is off the roads.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik called for collective efforts from all sections of the Society to secure rapid growth and development of the State on all fronts.
