Reports reaching here said that the CRPF personnel deployed at the bridge signalled a passenger vehicle driver to stop his vehicle. The driver stopped, however, a few metres ahead.

This infuriated the CRPF personnel who beat him.

The driver in protest parked his vehicle on the road and started protesting. He was soon joined by hundreds of commuters, drivers and locals. They demanded that the CRPF personnel be taken to task for highhandedness.

This has led to huge traffic jam on the highway. Later, local police officials and the army personnel, who are part of an army convoy, reached the spot and are trying to convince the protesters to call of the protests and make way for traffic.
