The spokesman said that the report from the GMC and SKIMS Soura also states that there were multiple bruises on the right arm of the person and his thighs were also wounded. The petition before the SHRC was filed by chairman International Forum for Human Rights and Justice (IFJHR) Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in case SHRC/302ANG/2018 on September 17, 2018.

While as the detailed police report is still awaited, the petitioner argues that Hajam was tortured by the forces as he was summoned to the nearby army camp where he was ruthlessly beaten and merciless thrashed and that he was left with his throat cut. The petitioner demands a high-level probe into the incident urging the SHRC investigating wing to probe the entire incident that led to the throat slit episode of Hajam.

Police had maintained that Hajam tried to end his life, “by slitting his throat”. “He is a Jaish suspect and was apprehended in connection with a case,” a police statement had read. “During questioning, he went to attend nature’s call and tried to end his life by slitting his throat” Hajam, according to the petitioner was referred to Islamabad district hospital from the 19 RR camp in Nadoora village in Dooru area of the district.
