SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with the Drug Control Department, sealed a medical shop in Billawar after recovering 320 capsules of Pregabalin 300 mg from its premises, police said on Monday.
The action was taken after police received information about a suspected consignment of illicit drugs near the Sub-District Hospital in Billawar. A police team, accompanied by a Drug Inspector, intercepted and inspected the consignment.
During the inspection, 320 Pregabalin 300 mg capsules were recovered from Mahajan Medical Agency, officials said.
The medicines were allegedly found without supporting bills or vouchers, which authorities said amounted to a violation of applicable drug-control regulations.
Following the recovery, the medical shop was sealed under relevant provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, for alleged unauthorised possession and sale of habit-forming drugs.
Further action is being taken under the applicable provisions of law, officials said.
