Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and party’s candidate for Anantnag parliamentary elections on Wednesday sought a release of youth who pelted stones on PDP cavalcade during the election rally in Khiram area of district Anantnag.

While addressing a workers convention at Khanabal Anantnag, the former chief minister of J&K appealed the police to release those in case anyone had been arrested for pelting stones on PDP cavalcade in Khiram.

On April 15, Mehbooba was returning after paying obeisance at Dargah Shrine in Khiram village when some people stoned the cavalcade which was on way to Bijbehara town.

A vehicle was damaged in the incident but government forces immediately cordoned off the area to provide a safe passage to the PDP President.
