SRINAGAR

Strongly condemning the fidayeen attack in Uri, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti has said violence is a zero sum game which does not solve any problem but gives rise to more complexities.

In a statement, she said the perpetrators of violence must realise that it is not through gun and grenade that political problems can be resolved. “The dialogue and reconciliation are the only options for making the headway in finding a solution,” Mehbooba added.

She expressed deep grief at the loss of the lives of Police and Paramilitary forces. Mehbooba also expressed concern at the sudden spurt in violence which witnessed many attacks in Kashmir on Friday. She said the administration must come out with the facts about these incidents and expose the culprits and their intentions.

Meanwhile, the PDP president, Friday evening visited the SMHS hospital in Srinagar along with the youth general secretary (Minority), Dr Shanti Singh, to inquire about the condition of those injured in the Tral blast. She interacted with the doctors and inquired about the treatment being offered to the victims.
