PDP president and Member of Parliament Mehbooba Mufti, arrived in Saudi Arabia on September 17, 2015.
Mehbooba is being accompanied by Anwar Mohammed Khan from Madhya Pradesh, who is Deputy Leader of Haji Goodwill Delegation.
On 19th September 2015, the Haj Goodwill Delegation was given a detailed presentation by Consul General BS Mubarak and Deputy Consul General, Mohammad Noor Rahman Sheikh on Haj arrangements.
After the presentation, Mehbooba visited the Indian Hajj Mission hospitals in Makkah Mukaramah and Azizia. The PDP president met several in-patients and enquired about their wellbeing.
On Monday, Mehbooba met Saudi Arabia Hajj Minister, Dr Bandar Al-Hajjar. The leader offered her condolences on the accident at Haram Sharief and discussed the issue of transportation in Azizia for Indian Pilgrims.
Mehbooba suggested that the transport system should be strengthened and local authorities should be involved in it. She also conveyed to the Minister about the issues related to catering arrangements for Indian pilgrims in Madinah Munawarah. CM Mufti Sayeed’s daughter also invited the Minister to visit India, especially Jammu & Kashmir.
Mehbooba also visited the families of the deceased pilgrims, who lost their lives in the Haram Sharief Crane Accident and visited few other buildings of pilgrims and interacted with them and enquired about their well-being. (KNS)
