SRINAGAR: The government has denied the permission for youth convention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) here at the fair view Gupkar residence and has put PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti under house detention in Kashmir Capital Srinagar.

Executive Magistrate Ist Class South Srinagar in an official communication according to Srinagar based news agency KDC has ordered that “In view of the report received by the office of Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar and COVID-19 restrictions in place. It is hereby ordered that the scheduled youth convention that is to be held today by the PDP at Gupkar is hereby not allowed.”

The magistrate further communicated “As such station House officer police Station Ram Munshi Bagh is hereby directed to ensure that no such event takes place at Gupkar without permission of the competent authority”.

Quoting a senior leader of PDP KDC reported that Mehbooba Mufti has been placed under house detention in view of the Youth Convention.

He said we have not received any official communication from the government regarding permission for ‘Not allowed’ so far, however he asked the government, Is COVID-19 only for PDP? and not for the other political parties who are holding rallies across Kashmir. “This speaks volumes about the government and their ironies regarding the protocols.
