Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday flew to Srinagar.

Mehbooba had gone to Delhi to meet Kashmiri Pandits asking them to come back. “Because Kashmir is incomplete without them.” This was a Chief Minister’s first interaction with Delhi based Kashmiri Pandits since 1990.

She flew to Srinagar directly from Delhi, where she had gone on Saturday.

After landing in Srinagar, Mehbooba had a detailed interaction with the administration and other senior officials. Sources said she talk to the officials in the districts in south Kashmir as well.

“It was a meeting with officers from civil and police administration to get the status of the situation in South Kashmir,” a senior cabinet minister told Kashmir Life over the phone. Thirteen militants, three soldiers and four civilians were killed and more than 80 persons sustained injuries during the encounters and subsequent protests in South Kashmir.

The minister added that Chief Minister directed the law enforcing agencies to avoid collateral damage while dealing with the situation. Mehbooba also reviewed the status of the injured persons who were injured during encounters in South Kashmir, he said.

Meanwhile, Joint resistance leadership has called for a valley-wide shutdown on tomorrow.

Sources expected that the Chief Minister may preside over a meeting on Tuesday in which the happenings after the three encounters will be discussed in detail.
