Before she takes final call with regard to government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti, is on way to her home town to offer Fatiha to former CM late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Mehbooba is chairing legislative party meet in the evening at her Fairview residence.
Sources said Mehbooba left for Bijbehara around 11:30 AM to offer prayers at her father’s grave.
Former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last on January 07 in AIIMS New Delhi. Since then, J&K is under direct rule from Union government with N N Vohra heading the state administration.
Mehbooba Mufti had refused to take over as CM as she asked BJP led Union government to announce J&K specific CBMs, however, after meeting PM Modi in Union capital last Tuesday, the chances of forming government in state have been revived.
Late Mufti headed a coalition government of PDP and BJP for over nine months before his demise. PDP has been seeking “time bound implementation of Agenda of Alliance (AoA)” from BJP. AoA is a working document agreed between PDP and BJP before they joined hands to form government in J&K.
