Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday visited the injured Station House Officer Manzoor Baig at AIIMS Delhi to inquire about his health.
Beig, who had sustained injuries during clashes between youth and forces on the foreshore road in Srinagar on Friday, was later airlifted to Delhi by the Jammu and Kashmir police for specialized treatment.
Beig has earlier served as SHO Pampore during post-Burhan Wani unrest in 2016. “He was credited and widely respected for keeping Pampore incident-free during those difficult days,” said a local wishing not to be named.
