Reacting to the speech made by MP And PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on the occasion of Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in which she had said that “the Change of borders or exchange of territory is not the solution and there is no alternative to Vajpayee’s reconciliation policy”, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) Sunday said that the Jammu & Kashmir borders are “yet to be determined and no individual has got any mandate to issue any such dictate which will be against the wishes and aspirations of the majority population of Jammu & Kashmir”.
“Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not having any such reconciliation or strong policy with regarding to the Kashmir which could help in solving this long pending dispute or which could have respected the wishes and sacrifices of the Kashmiris people but it is quite understandable that for becoming the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba has the compulsion to shower false and unwanted praises upon her masters and present the proof of her loyalty,” the Hurriyat (g) statement said this evening.
“Mehbooba Mufti, her father and her party have got completely exposed on every front and they buried their so-called pro-Kashmir policy before completing a year in power. To get the Chief Ministership of her father, Mehbooba Mufti widely exploited the wishes and the inner of the Kashmiri people and gained the power by befooling the simple and humble Kashmiris. In the beginning, Mehbooba Sahiba used to participate in the funeral prayers of the martyred Mujahideen and even she used to visit their families and express her sympathy and affection with them and used to promise them dignified positions. In 2002 her father had offered Mujahideen to return back from the forests because he will now represent them in the assembly,” the statement said.
The Hurriyat statement said, “to come into power, the PDP created a noise of Self Rule and were advocating the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of this state but now all those claims and promises have got badly exposed before the general public and both the father and the daughter have shown their actual face. The reality of this party is now known to everybody in Kashmir since the PDP joined their hands with the Sangh Parivar and since this party accepted the saffron colour to attain the power. There are no permanent borders still defined for Kashmir but a forced bloody line has been drawn through centre of this state which has been given the name of the cease-fire-line. Mehbooba Mufti has in no way got this mandate to decide anything with regarding to the changing or setting up of borders of this disputed territory. Her position is not of any neutral person and she accepts and endorses the forced occupation of India in Kashmir. Only the people of Jammu & Kashmir are authorized to decide or talk about the borders of this state and they have been promised at national and international levels that they will be given a free and fair chance to decide their future and their decision will be final.”
Hurriyat expressed its “surprise over this issue that why is Mehbooba Mufti and other leaders praising the Kashmir policy of Vajpayee Sahab and are advocating its continuity”. “Kashmir problem is a simple and clear issue that this region has been forcibly and illegally occupied by India and the people of this land are struggling against this military occupation from the day one. Vajpayee Sahab’s Kashmir policy was just a beautiful lip service and it was not any practicable formula but we can understand the compulsions of Mehbooba Mufti Ji that she want to carry forward the mission of Family rule in Jammu & Kashmir and she want to easily occupy the chair of her father. Much water has flown from the Jhelum now and Mehbooba Mufti Ji should remind that Kashmiris can’t be now be-fooled easily. They are politically matured people and they are fully aware about the wicked and tricky policies of the pro-Indian politicians.”
