Ram Madhav, BJP’s secretary general and in-charge J&K who played key role in the formation of Mufti Sayeed led PDP-BJP coalition, had an hour long meeting with Mehbooba Mufti. He had flown specially to pay his condolences.
Informed sources said the meeting continued for almost an hour and there was nobody from either of the two parties around. While top PDP leaders were outside the room, Madhav had also kept his two colleagues Dr Nirmal Singh and Avinash Khanna outside. Nobody is aware of what transpired between the two political beings.
Madhav’s meeting was anticipated to fast forward the new government formation headed by Mehbooba Mufti. But it seems, it might take some more time.
Sources said the two parties had already settled the succession issue in wake of Mufti’s failing health. However, in the last few days certain statements that have come from the right wing camp might have vitiated the relationship. An unnamed party source quoted by a Delhi newspaper said the BJP would opt for a fresh bargain and seek at least two more cabinet berths.
After his meeting, Madhav drove straightway to Circuit House in Srinagar where his party lawmakers were waiting since morning. Sources said after the meeting is over, Madhav will fly to Delhi. He had flown to Srinagar in a charter plane that is scheduled to take off around 2000 hours.
