Mercury Drops in Kashmir: Srinagar Freezes at -4.1°C

   

SRINAGAR: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded the season’s lowest temperature at minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, marking the coldest night of the season on Friday.

According to details, Shopian in South Kashmir was the coldest place at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department reported that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, compared to the previous night’s minus 2.1 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore, Shopian remained the coldest place in Kashmir with the mercury settling at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination, recorded a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg, a famous ski resort, recorded minus 4.3 degrees Celsius.

In addition, Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius, while Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded minus 3.4 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius.

Notably, there is no forecast of any significant weather events until December 16, with dry weather expected to continue until December 7.  (KNO)
