Intermittent rainfall has been recorded over the last three days from March 10, and the prevailing weather conditions are expected to continue until March 16.

The MeT has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for several locations tomorrow, forecasting light to moderate rain and snow at many places.

Director MeT, Mukhtar Ahmad, stated that intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and snow in the higher reaches are likely to persist until March 15.

He added that light rain and snow are expected at a few places on March 16 in the morning, with weather conditions improving by the afternoon. From March 17 to 21, the weather is expected to remain generally dry.

In its advisory, the MeT has urged travelers, tourists, and transporters to follow administration and traffic advisories, while farmers have been advised to suspend farming activities until March 16. “Avoid slopes and avalanche-prone areas. Landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones are expected at vulnerable spots,” the advisory reads. (KNO)
