SRINAGAR: The Meteorological department on Thursday said that they are expecting a brief spell of thundershower and hailstorm in areas of north Kashmir and Srinagar to Banihal.
Quoting an official of the MeT department news agency KDC reported that due to high-temperature multiple thunderstorm cells have developed over many places of Kashmir mainly Kupwara, Baramulla, and Srinagar to Banihal. “(We are) expecting a brief spell of Thundershower in these areas,” the official added.
He said that some pockets may receive hailstorms as well, although it would not last long.
Such events are a regular feature of the Pre-Monsoon season (April-June for J&K), the statement added.
