Kashmir reeled under the cold wave with minimum temperatures below freezing point on Wednesday even as the Meteorological department predicted dry weather till November 9.

“The weather will be dry till November 9,” MeT officials told Kashmir Life.  However, the MeT has forecast more cold in the coming days. “Night temperatures will go down further, while day temperatures will see a slight rise,” officials said.

MeT officials said that the minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point in the valley as Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season so far at minus 2.2 degrees Celsius.

Pahalgam recorded minus 5.2 and ski-resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla recorded minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Kargil town at minus 9.0 degrees Celsius was the coldest town of Jammu and Kashmir followed by Leh at minus 8.4.

Jammu city recorded 9.1 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.1, Batote 6.1, Bannihal 7.2 and Bhaderwah 4.0.
