Though the minimum temperature remained sub zero, summer-like weather prevailed in the Kashmir valley where a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to hit from February 16.

A Meteorological department spokesman said that weather will be dry in the state during the next 24 hours. However, a fresh WD is likely to hit the region on February 16 which could result in fairly wide spread to wide spread rain or snow from February 16 to February 18.

World famous health resort of Pahalgam was coldest with minus 6.9 degree, a notch below normal though it was one degree warmer than yesterday.

Gulmarg, a famed ski resort, where a local ski guide was killed under a snow avalanche yesterday afternoon, recorded minus 5.4 degree minimum temperature, which was 1.6 notches above normal.

The Met spokesman said the minimum temperature was minus 1.2 degree, slightly below normal in the city. Qazigund recorded minus 1.2 degree, Kupwara minus 2.8 degree and Kokernag minus 0.2 degree minimum temperature.
