Militant commander Zakir Musa’s killing triggers violent protests across Kashmir

As the news about the killing of top militant commander Zakir Moosa spread, widespread protests were being witnessed in different parts of the valley in reaction to the killing.

The AGH commander Zakir Musa was killed during an encounter with government forces in Dadsara village of Tral area in Pulwama district this evening.

Besides various parts of Srinagar, protests were also witnessed in Trehgam village of Kupwara district and Sopora area of Baramulla district. Students of the University of Kashmir have also gathered outside Zakoora campus to protest against the killing.

In Rahmoo, Rajpora, Kakapora, Malangpora villages of Pulwama district pro-freedom Taranas are being played inside mosques’.

Protests have also started in Okay, Yaripora and Shouch areas of Kulgam district, while as Taranas are being played in Mohammad Pora, Kadde, Badroo areas of the district. Similarly, protests area also going on in Keller, Mast Pora, Killora, Habdipora, Trenz and Imam Shabib areas of Shopian District as well.

In Srinagar’s Nawakadal Chowk, protestors have assembled shouting slogans in favour of the slain militant.

People have also gathered in Soaf-Shali area of Kokernag village in Anantnag protesting against the killing and Taranas are also being played in the village. Similarly, the youth in Khanabal and Seer Hamdan area of the district are on roads protesting against the killing of the slain militant commander.
