SRINAGAR: A militant and a policeman were injured on Sunday at Nowhatta area of Srinagar in an ongoing chance encounter, police said.
A police spokesman in a statement said that a policeman identified as Constable Sarfaraz Ahmad of Batote, Ramban was injured in the encounter at Nowhatta area of Srinagar.
He said the injured cop was shifted to hospital for treatment.

He added that a militant has also got injured in the ongoing encounter.
The spokesman said that vehicle (scooter) used by two militants of LeT seized from the incident site.
“Besides, one Ak-74 rifle and two grenades have been recovered and search still going on,” he said.
