Police on Monday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that based upon a specific information a search operation by district Police Ganderbal along with 5 RR was launched searches in the forest area of Badurkund, Gutlibagh.

“During the search operation, a hideout of militants was busted in the forest area. Incriminating materials including a huge quantity of arms & ammunition, one INSAS rifle, four Magazines, eighty INSAS rounds, thirty-seven AK 47 rounds, one Chinese grenade were recovered from the hideout,” the spokesman said.

“The rifle so recovered appears to have been snatched by the militants from security forces. In this regard, an FIR registered at P/S Ganderbal to conduct an investigation and trace out the persons involved,” said police spokesman.
