SRINAGAR: Security forces on Monday unearthed a militant hideout during a joint search operation in the Kalaroos area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, recovering arms, ammunition, and incriminating material.
A top police officer said that the three-day operation, carried out jointly by the Army, BSF, and JK Police, led to the discovery of a stony cave used as a hideout by militants.
“The recovery includes 12 Chinese grenades, a Chinese pistol with ammunition, a Kenwood radio set, an Urdu IED manual, and fire sticks,” the officer said.
He added that the timely operation has “foiled a possible nefarious plan of militants in the area,” while stressing that joint forces remain committed to dismantling the terror network. (KNC)
