Army on Sunday claimed to have busted a militant hideout and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition at Rajwar forest area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An army spokesman based in north Kashmir said: “today acting on a specific input, a joint team of army’s 21 RR, Handwara police, 92 Bn CRPF launched a cordon in Watsar forest area”.

“During searches, a hideout of militants was  busted and huge quantity of cache was recovered which include Pika- 01, Bazooka-01, Radio set Yaesu-01, Mor Rounds-06, Pika Ammunition- 940, Silencer -03, AK Magzine –O6, IED Initiating Mechanism- 04, IED Explosive- O8 kg, UBGL Rounds — 21, Hand Grenade- 01, RPG Rounds O4, Booster Rpg — 15, Electric Detonator — 20, Detonator Box 04 and Magazine Box,” the officer said.

Meanwhile, a police officer also confirmed the recovery of cache and said that a case has been registered and the investigation was taken up. (GNS)
