Militant hideout busted in south Kashmir: Police

A militant hideout was busted by army and Police in Buchoo Kamala forests area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said.

A police spokesman in a statement said that based on a credible input, Awantipora Police with the assistance of 42RR and CRPF busted a militant hideout of proscribed outfit JeM in Buchoo/Kamala forests area of Awantipora.

“Police have recovered incriminating materials including explosive materials from the hideout,” said the spokesman.

“A case FIR No.20/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral in this regard,” he said.

“The incriminating materials recovered have been seized by the police and taken into case records for the purpose of the investigation,” he added.

“Officers from the local police station are investigating the matter,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
