SRINAGAR: A militant affiliated with Islamic State J&K outfit was killed in an encounter on late last night in K. Kalan Srigufwara area of Anantnag district. Police said the slain militant has recently joined ISJK outfit and was involved in the killing of a Police Asistant sub Inspector Mohammad Ashraf posted at police station Bijbehara.

The slain militant was identified by police as. Faheem Bhat, resident of Kadipora Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
The encounter broke out in village K.Kalan Srigufwara on late Saturday night after J&K Police, Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force cordoned off the area to hunt down hiding militant (s), police said.
