A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter with the counter-insurgent forces in Beighpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, police said
A police spokesman said that one militant was killed in the gunfight in Beighpora area of Pulwama district.
The spokesman said that operation is going on and further details shall follow.
Earlier, he had said that top militant commander was trapped in the encounter.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched cordon search operation Beighpora during night hours.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.
Pertinently this is the second encounter in Awantipora in Span of eight hours.
