A militant was killed in an encounter with counter-insurgent forces in Melhora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, the army said.
In a statement, an army spokesman said that one militant was killed in a gunfight in Melhora village of the district. “The operation is going on,” he said.
The gunfight broke after acting on the specific information; police, army, and CRPF launched searches in Melhora village.
