The Secretary General of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat , Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has been detained in his residence for last three days.
Sehrai, deputy of Syed Ali Geelani, was placed under house detention “to stop him from participating in the funeral prayers of the militants who were killed in an encounter with forces in Pulwama on Saturday”, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesperson said Monday evening.
The spokesperson condemned the house detention of Sehrai and said that “soon after taking the CM’s chair, Ms Mehbooba has unleashed state terrorism in the state”.
“Ms Mehbooba, like her father, is following the orders of his masters and is hell bent to turn the state into a jail,” he said. “Mass arrests won’t deter the freedom lovers from achieving the pious goal.”
