SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested an uncategorised militant and two associates allegedly involved in grenade throwing incidents in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The spokesman said that Sopore Police along with 22RR and 179CRPF busted Al-Badr militant module involved in grenade throwing incidents.

“One un-categorized militant identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Pandith son of Rayees Ahmad Pandith resident of Bunpora Dangerpora Sopore along with his two associates identified as Abdul Majeed Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar and Mubashir Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar, both residents of Dangerpora Sopore were arrested,” said the spokesman, adding that they were involved in grenade throwing incident at Police Post Warpora Sopore.

“Regarding the incident case, FIR No. 237/2020 under relevant sections of law already stands registered in Police Station Sopore. The investigation is in progress and more arrests are expected,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
