‘Militants attacked police naka party, not police station in Rajpora’

Police on Saturday afternoon denied the reports that militants attacked a police station in rajpora area of Pulwama district in southern part of Kashmir.

A police spokesperson said that a police naka party was fired upon by militants in rajpora area.

“A police party on naka duty at Rajpora was fired upon by some militants at around 16.10 hrs. In the ensuing gun battle two police personnel have sustained injuries and shifted to the hospital. The condition of the injured personnel is stated to be stable. Area has been cordoned by the SFs and search is going on. Some sections media reports stating an attack on the Police Station Rajpora is denied.”
