SRINAGAR: Police on Friday discovered the body of a militant, almost two weeks after a gunfight took place in the Khawas Budhal area of Rajouri district. During the exchange, his accomplice was neutralized, and his body was retrieved on August 5.
Both the army and police had previously reported that one militant was injured during the encounter on that day.
“A police officer stated, ‘The body of the second militant, who was injured in the Khawas Budhal encounter in Rajouri district, has been located by the police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) in the Dhakikot area.’ The officer mentioned that grenades, magazines, and other materials were discovered in the possession of the militant.
Amritpal Singh, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Rajouri, verified the retrieval of the body. He mentioned that the body was found in the Reasi area. With this discovery, a total of two militants have been killed in the gunfight. (GNS)”
