In the wee hours of Monday morning, a brief exchange of gunfire took place at Bidoora village in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district between Government forces and militants.
Reports said that mixed contingents of government forces including army’s 19 RR and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Bidoora, Aknigam village, following a specific input about the presence of some militants in the area.
According to the reports, as the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the militants opened fire leading to an encounter.
The firing was stopped from both the sides as of now. More details awaited.
