Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Wednesday accused incumbent Education Minister and his aide of victimizing teachers community to hid his failures.

In a statement to news agency CNS, president EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani criticized Education Minister and his lieutenant OSD Shahnawaz Bukhari for victimizing activists and leaders of Teachers Forum, just to hide all misdeeds, failure and anti teacher activities.

Wani said that the last two years of Education Department is a black period in which teachers and students were the sufferers at every level. Wani said Education Minister Nayeem Akhter and his aides are hell bent to weaken the Teachers Forum, “but I want to tell them that Teachers Forum is a movement and every teacher in the department is its well wisher and nobody on earth can weaken or crush our movement.”

“Minister and his agents always tried to disrespect teaching fraternity in the name of exam drama, screening test, transfer melas, super fifty, tuition ban, involvement of  NGOs with nefarious designs, assigning chowkidari duty to teachers and inducting KAS officers as Joint Directors in the department to kill and disrespect the promotional chances of officers in the department. All these dramas proved total failure and both govt and private education sectors suffered badly.”

Wani said that higher ups of the department are only working on the wrong policies. Wani warned that if the dictatorial attitude of Ministers and his lieutenants could not stop their anti teacher policies, the whole teaching community will hit the roads and responsibility shall lie on the shoulders of Govt.Wani appealed the Chief Minister of the state to look into these sensitive issues, otherwise teachers have no option other than to fight against cruel hands. Wani appealed the Chief Minister of the state to look into these sensitive issues, otherwise teachers have no option other than to fight against cruel hands. Wani said that dictatorial attitude of the s aid team also proved detrimental for private sector.

Wani asked the teaching community to be ready for any challenge and gear up their units for tooth and nail fights against these conspiracies. Wani also said that it is shame for the people at the helm of affairs that teachers under SSA, RMSA, NPS and other schemes are without salaries from last six months.

“Instead of getting their salaries regularized and released, the department is repeating exam drama and victimizing teachers.”

Wani urged upon the government to frame a policy to regularize the salaries of such teachers and their salaries should be released immediately.

Wani said that the private staff of Education Minister are functioning life bosses and are humiliating the officers and lecturers in the department only for their petty interests and to weak teacher’s movement.
