Ministers keep administration ‘hostage’ for their own ‘vested interests’: Er Rashid

Concerned over Officer’s frequent visits to Jammu, President Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Rashid has expressed his deep anger and anguish against majority of the cabinet ministers who call District and Divisional cadre Officers frequently to Jammu and thereby make common people to suffer.

Addressing party workers in Handwara Friday he said. “Deputy Commissioners, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers and other top officials all across the valley are being frequently summoned by cabinet ministers to Jammu just to
increase their vote bank and force them to do many things beyond their competence for their vested interests.”

“Similarly these ministers in the name of official visits make frequent visits at week ends to their constituencies by traveling through air on state expenses. This is resulting not only in huge lose to state exchequer but also effects badly the working of almost every department, besides making common man to suffer without any reason, ” he added.

He asked Chief Minister Omer Abdullah to have a “tweet on this issue as well” and explain that why his ministers who are supposed to work for the betterment of people of the state are acting like Maharajas and are keeping state administration at District and state level hostage just for their own political and vested interests.

“If the ministers don’t restrain from making administration hostage and continue with causing unnecessary burden on state exchequer for their personal interests, we will come to streets to make them understand the importance and significance of doing justice with the people of the state.” Er Rashid further added.
