A minor fire broke out at famous shrine Khankah-e-Faiz-Panah at Tral town in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Locals said that they rushed to the shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Ameer Kabeer Mir Sayed Ali Hamadani (RA) after hearing about the fire incident.
“The minor fire had broken out in the shrine shortly after Maghrib prayers. Announcements were being made over the public address system of the mosque and fire was doused within minutes,” said a local.
An official said soon after the fire hundreds of people, police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire from spreading.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official said, adding there were no reports of any loss of life or injury to anyone so far.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and further investigations were taken up.
