Police on Monday said that a minor girl was allegedly raped in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The spokesman said that today a person identified as Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of Yarikhan, Khan Sahab approached Police Station Khan Sahab with a complaint that his minor daughter (name withheld) has been raped by Mohammad Maqbool Rather, 22, son of Abdul Ahad Rather resident of village Yarikhah Khan Sahab.
Police have taken the cognizance of the case and accordingly medical examination of the minor girl was conducted which confirmed the rape of the victim.
The accused has been identified and is still at large. The hunt has been launched to arrest the accused, Police said.
In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered and the investigation is going on.
