SRINAGAR: One of the civilians who was injured in the Mir Bazaar shootout last week has lost his battle in the hospital. He was admitted in the SKIMS and his body has been shifted to his south Kashmir village.

Police identified the slain Kashmiri as Mohammad Hussain Dar of Khrewan Malpora. With this, the May 6, incident has led to the killing of six persons including a police man and a militant.

On May 6, militants attacked a police party near Alstop on the hghay in which one cop was killed. In its retaliation a militant was also killed. Four civilians were killed in the incident, three of them the same day.

The slain militant was identified as Fayaz Ahmad Ishwar @Setha got killed. Police said the slain militant was active for two years and was wanted by NIA

Injured included policeman Mahmood Ahmad as three civilians Suhail Nabi Bhat resident of Badipora Tral, Niyaz Ahmad Mir resident of Malpora Kulgam and Hem Raj Sharma resident of Samba succumbed to their injuries. SPO Raqeeb Ahmad No 514/SPO son of Farooq Ahmad and Ghulam Hassan Dar of Krewan Malpora were shifted to hospital were the latter died on Sunday morning.
