Insisting that J&K Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police state, JKLF on Sunday said peaceful political leader Mir Hafizullah has been arrested. He has been booked under Public Safety Act.

“It shows the criminal mindset of rulers and their police,” JKLF statement quoted its leader Yasinb Malik saying. “This act has also exposed the faces that are behind numerous inhuman, uncivilized and anti-people deeds meant to defame resistance and freedom movement.”

“The way police raided and arrested a peaceful political leader like Mir Hafizullah in the disguise of rebels has proved the fact that these forces can cross any limit to crush peaceful voice of Kashmiris ,” the statement said. “Why can’t forces and personal that can camouflage themselves for arresting a political leader like this, be behind those numerous inhuman, disreputable, anti-people deeds that are being committed in the name of unknown persons to defame resistance and freedom movement.”

The JKLF statement has also clarified that Malik had no meeting with the team of journalists who were in Srinagar for last few days.
