SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of senior National Conference leader and former minister Dr Mustafa Kamal, who passed away in Srinagar after a prolonged illness.
In a post on X, Mirwaiz said he was saddened by the death of the veteran politician and offered prayers for the departed leader.
“Saddened to hear about the death of veteran politician Dr. Mustafa Kamal Sahib. إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah.”

Mirwaiz also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other members of the bereaved family.
“My deepest condolences to Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sahib, Omar Abdullah Sahib, and all members of the bereaved family. May Allah grant them sabr to bear this loss,” he said.
Dr Mustafa Kamal, a veteran National Conference leader, former minister and younger brother of Dr Farooq Abdullah, passed away on Tuesday evening after battling illness for several months. His death has drawn condolences from leaders across the political spectrum in Jammu and Kashmir.
