Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday denounced the use of force on protesting students against the killings in Kashmir

“Strongly condemn the police excesses on students protesting the brutal #Shopian and #Kangan killings. Scores of young students including girls injured and hospitalised! For every reaction to oppression even by students the standard state response is brute force! (Sic)” Mirwaiz wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Thursday appealed the government and the people of Pakistan to observe April 6, as Kashmir Solidarity Day in such a manner that the world, as well as the people of Jammu and Kashmir, feel that Pakistan is with the people of Kashmir.

The spokesman in a statement appealed the people of Jammu and Kashmir to hold peaceful protests so that world comes to know that we all are protesting the killings in Kashmir.

Further, Andrabi condemned the use of force by the police on the innocent students who were protesting against the Kashmir killings, adding that students were protesting to show solidarity with the people who were killed. “But the government doesn’t allow even allow peaceful protests in Kashmir, the spokesman quoted Andrabi saying.
