SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the killing of a minor girl, Kaneeza and severely injuring a minor boy Faisal in a military and forces joint operation at Hyhama Kupwara, the chairman Hurriyat Conference (m) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has termed the incident as yet another worst example of “state terrorism” and forces atrocities committed on the people of Kashmir.
Mirwaiz, in a statement, said the killing of the minor girl in the incident indicates how the government forces enjoy the impunity to kill Kashmiris under the grab of combating insurgents.
He said showering bullets on unarmed innocent minors and atrocities on civilian population is totally against the internationally accepted laws for the protection of Human Rights and established norms of the civilized behaviour.
Mirwaiz said such aggressive behavior of the government forces against the people of Kashmir could have extremely dangerous consequences.
Expressing condolence and sympathy with parents of the minors, who reportedly are sibling, Mirwaiz said that the Hurriyat Conference leadership and the entire people of Kashmir share their pain and stand firmly with them in this hour of grief.
