Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday expressed anguish over the killings in Palestine.
“Deeply saddened by the massacre of #Palestinians by Israel. Lament worlds indifference towards grave injustice and repression perpetuated upon Palestinians thrown out of their own land by a powerful occupier!People of #Kashmir sympathise and empathise with the Palestinian people,” Mirwaiz wrote on Twitter.
On Monday, 55 Palestinians were killed and over 2700 people sustained injuries by Israeli soldiers during mass protests along the Gaza border.
My heart and soul aches with pain and anguish because of these killings in Palestine and by the killings of Kashmiris by Indian armed forces. I am an American citizen who has been in Srinagar, Kashmir in 2014, 2016 and am planning to return soon. This is only the beginning of Trump’s uninformed, knee jerk reactions and determination to undo all that Obama did which is resulting in continued serious conflict causing death and destruction We have only to look at the complete lack of understanding and mindless judgment of Trump for a cause of these atrocities. We can look at the failure of the BJP/PDP, and Modi’s failure to account for the senseless loss of lives in the Valley. The self-surving decisions and policies of our respective “leaders” is far more than pathetic; it is frightening! If this form and style of governing is permitted to continue what will be left of our countries, our democracies with which to rebuild what is being lost daily? During this Ramadan, our time of prayer and fasting, let us beg Allah to forgive us and to bring peace to the areas of conflict, nay “war” in our world.
